One more skirt for sport! This time the first climbing skirt: the Mammut Refine Skort. However, it looks that it wasn’t such a best-seller, as it’s not available on their web any more. But still it’s worth checking.

From Mammut's press release: "This stylish climbing skirt finds Mammut launching a fabulously feminine look for both rock and climbing gym. As a practical garment fashioned from high-stretch fabric featuring antibacterial properties and integrated shorts, the Skort follows the wearer's every movement. The Skort ("skirt" and "short") is a short skirt enclosing shorts. This new garment combines technology with feminine styling. The comfortably wide waist is designed to take the hip belt of the harness. It features a slightly flared skirt with pleats and a slit to the front. Beneath the skirt are short, body-hugging pants, which are where the harness's leg loops are positioned. The skirt conceals these, resulting in a new, feminine silhouette designed to flatter".

Well, without trying it on, just after reading few reviews, it seems that the skirt is not appropriate on the climbing walls for most climbing ladies. For sure it takes attention, especially from male spectators on the crash pads, but that’s not the way of getting climbing respect. The idea of combining climbing harness and apparel is great, but all the girls want on the walls are Mammut’s Realization Shorts :)

Tak powstała Refine Skort, która była dostępna w sezonie 2012, jednak wycofana, bo przegrała z szortami! ze wbudowaną uprzężą. Sama przyznam, że spodnie na ścianie są dużo bardziej praktyczne. A spódnica pewnie wzbudzała duże zainteresowanie, szczególnie męskiej części publiki „dopingującej” na materacach. :)
